About AATVS
AATVS has been accrediting colleges, schools, universities, and laboratories since 1897, and has been called "The most prestigious technology authentication any University school division or lab can achieve" by FORTUNE magazine. One of the most famous AATVS accreditations is on display in Greenfield Village at the Henry Ford Museum. AATVS (then the American Association of Trade Education) accredited Thomas Edison's Laboratory (believed by many to be the first industrial research laboratory) on 10/18/1927, to accept students worldwide. This lab and it's students have been credited with the creation of both GE and Bell Labs. With the birth of the internet in 1985, AATVS has expanded it's charter to include technical and scientific campuses, schools and divisions of leading Universities, and online education. AATVS fills a gap in accreditation created by independent laboratories, CME, CSE, Online Colleges and especially highly technical trades such as Aerospace, CSI, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Engraving, Gunsmithing, Industrial Design, PCR and lab testing, and many others in the ultra high tech, CAD/CAM art - design, and lab science arenas.
